Whiskey or Wine?

"‘Your Heart Or Mine’ epitomises Pardi's ability to strike a balance between modern country and a more traditional-leaning sound. Since he released the song last year, it has proven to be one of the most popular tracks from his much-loved Mr. Saturday Night album."

In September of 2022 Jon Pardi released his fourth studio album (apart from a covers-project in 2020) by the title of "Mr. Saturday Night". After the mid-tempo first single 'Last Night Lonely' has reached the top of the radio (Billboard Country Airplay) chart already last summer, the follow-up single has now entered the Top-20. It carries the title 'Your Heart Or Mine' and with its modern production it is an outlier for the rest of the more traditional sounding album.

"Musically, it has really cool chords and a really cool style to it. It’s got a great R&B soul and 70s claps on there. I definitely wanted the claps and the drum tracks on it. The drums drive the song and you want to move with it and you want to flow with it," says Jon Pardi about the song written by Bart Butler, Justin Ebach and John Pierce, when talking about it with americansongwriter.com.

"The song talks about the push and pull in a relationship…to know if you should come back again, or wonder “is this gonna work out?” I want it to work out, but then it doesn’t work out. That feeling of the unknown."

The video for the song was shot in the picturesque city of San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, which is part of the UNESCO world cultural heritage. It was directed by Columbia-born and New York City - raised Carlos Ruiz. Next to Jon Pardi it stars former Miss World Paula Montes from Peru.

For August of 2023 Jon Pardi has announced his first (Mr. Saturday Night) World Tour, which has him follow the slowly increasing trend for country acts to also perform overseas. That way he will at least have one show each in The Netherlands, Germany (Hamburg), Norway and Sweden, next to several dates in Great Britain.
